In the Clinical section of the Console, under the Misc settings, there is a field titled When there are multiple appts booked. The default configuration is to arrive the patient for all appointments, if they are within the arrival window. 

You cane change this to arrive the patient for only the first appointment, or simply ask them to go to reception.
