Calling Patients from EMIS Web
You can call patients in using Engage Call directly from the EMIS Web Appointment Book.
First the patient needs to be marked as "Arrived" this can be done manually or via your check in screen, arrived patients will show with an "A" next to their names as below
Once a patient is marked as arrived, you can "Send Patient In" by right clicking their appointment, hovering over "Change Slot Status" and clicking "Send Patient In" (If you select Quiet Send In no notification will be sent to the Engage Call Screen)
You can also use "S" as a shortcut to trigger the call in.
By default the screen will show the name of the patient and the name of the clinician they are seeing, as below:
If you want the screen to show more information, such a room number, you will need to configure your "Location Alias" in EMIS Web.
You can do this from the "Appts Config" menu on the Appointment Book page.
This will bring up the Appointments Configuration screen, from here click "General" at the bottom under "Terminal Options"
Under "General" click "User Location Alias" this will unlock the text box to enter a custom message, whatever you type in there will display on the Engage Call screen when you send in a patient, so in the example above the Dr's name, room number and an instruction will show.
